Wednesday January 21, 2009 (14 weeks, 3 days)I went to the doctor for my monthly check-in, and we were finally able to hear the little one's heartbeat. The doc said it was regular and strong... and then I heard a blip... I thought at first it was because I moved my hand to rest on my ribs, but the doc said that noise meant that the baby was kicking (still to early for me to feel). Then we heard it again, and again, and again.... 6 times in the matter of a couple minutes. To put things in perspective, a healthy baby is supposed to kick 10 times... in a day! So, apparently we have a little soccer player in our future... pray for me!
We go back on February 18th for our next ultrasound, so hopefully we will be able to share the sex of the baby with everyone soon!

matt, i hope the baby grows up to be uefa footballer and i'll force you to buy the english premier league package on directv and watch every nauseating minute of every match. and you'll have to say things like "on the pitch".
(mutters curse word)
also, is there any doubt that this baby is already taking after me? Lord help me and my poor sweet wife.
